NOTE: Due to a recently passed law, your citation and driver license numbers must be completely accurate in order for your completion to be successfully sent to the Florida HSMV and Clerk of Court.

ADI is a 12 hour course usually required by the state of Florida for excessive points accumulated on a person's Florida Driver License. It may also be court ordered in some cases.

Why take the class live rather than online?

While we offer both live and online versions of ADI, we strongly recommend the classroom setting. The live class offers class participation in a group setting, group quizzes that are not graded and no final exam that must be passed. The live class also does not require 12 hours of reading and answering questions in an essay format.

The most convenient component of the live class is that you receive your certificate at the end of your class. This will allow you to meet the requirements of the state of Florida or court in the easiest and quickest way.

Course Highlights:

  • ADI is available online and in classrooms throughout Central Florida.
  • ADI class may be court-ordered.
  • The 12-hour course, divided into multiple sessions.
  • Designed for drivers with multiple traffic offenses and high-risk drivers
  • Maximum of 20 participants per class in a highly interactive format.
  • Group sessions conducted by a certified trainer.

If your driver license was suspended in the state of Florida for points or as a habitual traffic offender (non-DUI related), or by court order, you must complete an advanced driver improvement course.

Notice: The online version of this class requires that you have the ability to write in an essay format. FSC recommends you take the Classroom Course if you are uncomfortable with extensive writing.

How the Florida Traffic School 12 Hour Advanced Driver Improvement Course Works:

Florida Advanced Driver Improvement ADI, also known as Traffic School or Defensive Driving, is a 12 Hour course which motorists can take when their drivers license (DL) has been suspended or revoked, when required by the courts, or to get an insurance discount (at the discretion of the insurance company). The course is delivered in several short modules online and covers topics such as:
HTO ( Habitual Traffic Offender), DUI, and Florida Traffic Laws
ADI Defensive Driving Strategies
Driving under the Influence (DUI)
Adverse Driving Conditions and more
Upon completion of the traffic school course, you will receive an official Florida traffic school certificate of completion. At the same time, the completion is filed with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. If your citation was the result of a moving violation, this completion will remove any points associated with the ticket, prevent insurance premium increases and possibly reduce the fine of the ticket.
Convenient on-line reporting lets traffic schools automatically report course completions to DHSMV so the Driver License offices can view students who successfully complete Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE
